Christina and I threw together a choreography that we spent a solid two weeks on putting together.
Here's the story:
Professor Li'l Venus has built a robot as a dance partner, but the robot keeps breaking down. Will the Professor ever be able to dance?
This was for the Burlesque Beta show at the Go Bar on Nov 19th. We had a lot of fun and will probably do it again.
The gold paint fir my costume was, as I'm sure you could guess, an absolute and total bitch to get out.
It basically destroyed my loofa.
Other than that, my costuming involved a lot of duct tape. I was wanting to get a fancy ripped up tuxedo jacket to wear in addition to my metallic look, but it never happened. I was a little sad I didn't have a jacket to dance in; I could have put on a lot LESS of the gold paint. Ah well.
Li'l Venus's costume was much more simple, basically involving the above sparkly jacket and some well placed under-garments. Because it was for a burlesque show, we did strip off Venus's jacket in the choreography. So be warned before you watch the video I have posted.
Professor Venus and I (as Robotica) enjoyed a quick walk through downtown, where the Professor pointed out the wonders of this alternate world (we are Steampunk-based, in case you can't guess). Robotica found the buildings architecturally possible ("Not one story, Robotica, but three!") but didn't understand why the humans around them were acting so foolishly (there were many-a-drunk-student, for the UGA Dawgs had just won a game that night).
We double-stepped it back to the Go Bar and partied hard with the Burlesque crowd. The show was a lot of fun.

Southern Pirate Festival 2011
My dance troupe, Sulukule, was asked to come over to Columbus, GA for Oct. 22 and 23rd and do a full weekend of dance and mini workshops. It was wonderful fun.
The final picture is of our weekend DJ. He was fantastic and participated in the workshops from his DJ station. He even joined us for some free-dance.
